About German Learning

  • germanlearning is inspired by the love of producing interactive resources. The aim is to provide an interactive format through which pupils can practise German as a foreign language in a variety of exercise styles.

  • It is assumed that pupils should have been taught the material covered prior to attempting a unit. The work should be used as reinforcement and consolidation to the teachings. In addition, units are available for pupils to use in their own time.

  • Pupils are able to work through units at their own pace and they can have immediate feedback on their progress. They also have the opportunity to make corrections to their work and pursue accuracy.

  • Exercises mostly require pupils to get everything right first time in order to score 100%. There are point penalties for making mistakes, and also for using "Help" buttons where they are provided.  Most units incorporate differentiation in that exercises become more challenging as the pupil progresses.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Please write us an email, and we’ll get started. (……)

Where do I find answers to questions when I can't work them out for myself?
Unfortunately, we do not provide the answers to questions on the website. As such you would need to ask your teacher for help, or look the answer up somewhere in a dictionary or else.

How does the percentage at the end of exercises work? I've got it all right, but it doesn't give me 100%.
The percentage result at the end of an exercise depends on various factors. If you get all the answers right first time, you will score 100% straight off. However, if you check it as you go along, or have to correct errors after checking, there are penalties for doing so, and even when you have completed it all, the score will not be 100%. Similarly, if you click Help buttons (where provided) there are penalties for doing so and you will not score 100%. To get the full 100%, you've got to get it all right on the first "Check" click!

What happens at the end of each unit? Do I get a reward, or do I need to go through the whole group before there is recognition for it?

After completion of each unit the student receives a small badge as a reward.

How does the tracking work for the teacher, if he wants to log in and see what the learners are doing?
